Welcome to Photive

I have long been inspired to start a Journal/Blog highlighting the parts of my life that motivate and engage me. This is it I guess.. my first blog or journal entry and my first attempt to engage the world.

I love photography. I enjoy the technical aspects. I love the success when something works out as planned and I thrive on learning new things. I am an amateur enthusiast and in no way claim to be anything other than that. So to have a space where I can share some of my pictures and some of the things I learn along the way.

I am a triathlete. I compete in sprint, olympic and middle distance events and this year have started to road race bikes also. My first race being this Sunday (2nd April). Triathlon takes up a huge chunk of time in terms of the training involved and I have the support of my amazing family to allow me to take part in such a demanding sport. The big race for me this year is the Edinburgh Ironman 70.3. My hope is to document my journey. The struggles and the successes along the way. If you would like to join me it would be great to have you.
